Lets all give RJ a big way to go and thanks for such nice words

I think the most interesting would be regular listerine! I had no idea.
I really have all of OB to blame for my obsession! If I didn't have someone to be excited with but also to have friends who understand why I love plants so much and to have someone relate when a favorite orchid gets mealies or something I think we should add to this, the most off the wall tangent! I have to agree with whoever already said this, it definitely has to be the one about the high school instruments. But I did learn a thing or two from the thread! |

I wonder if there is something fermenting in the sh now ..... HMM this may at the moment be my most usefull thing from ob ....going to flush all my s/h pots now I was lax this week and skipped that |
Clear plastic pots.
Never got the aha moment until people mentioned it. Not only do I get to see the roots on my plants, but they get to do what they would do in the wild... Photosynthesize. I'll add the whole cinnamon, neem oil, and Listerine thing too. Here're a couple other home remedies. 1. Antibacterial liquid dishwashing detergent. 2. Tea tree oil based liquid soaps. Surprisingly enough, these 2 products performed better than either Physan 20 or Phyton 27 combined. |

Bottom heat... its not just for humans :o) It also happens to spur healthy root growth in a newly potted plant, especially those in s/h.
Bottom heat has saved many of my plants, specifically a rootless violacea hybrid that is now thriving with loads of new roots. |

I've always thought you were friendly. I think you're a cool dude. You're also very creative and you like to repurpose things. I like that!;) |
