hi, i recently pruchase a few bulbophyllum cuttings from a nursery, just wondering what is the best way to raise them? watering everyday basis or keep them dry till new roots appear (i am currently planting them on small log and coconut husk). any input would be appreciated, thanks
If they don't have any root yet, you should not water them, they will rot.
You can keep them in a moist environment (sphag in bag method for example). My best method is in a plastic bag (air tight ) with live sphagnum moss in it. When they have roots about 1 inch long, you can transplant them on the mount.
thanks for the info, all the bulbophyllums i obtain had roots with them but are broken/fractured roots when they are removed from the mother plant, so should i water them?
