I checked the roots and they are in really good shape. I guess this means the plant is healthy, and maybe just a little thirsty due to the hot summer. I decided not to soak my oncidium overnight but opted to increase my watering intervals instead. I'm going to try your skewer method. I think its a great idea. Thanks for the advice!
