Thumbs up I joined an Orchid Society today and...

I joined an Orchid Society at our local Royal Botanical Gardens today! I met some wonderful people....of course not as wonderful as all of you!

AND, I won an orchid in the raffle....my lucky day.
Ludisia discolor var. nigrescens I'm told the flowers will be white.

I had a ton of fun today, and am very excited that I was able to bring home another little chid kid!

Oh, at the Orchid Society meeting today, the speaker was an expert on Lycaste's....wow, what fasinating info!
And oh! what beautiful pictures were shown. I guess all of you know that it's normal for the leaves to die off....ummm, orchids are very very interesting and surprise me every step of the way!

If anyone would like to see what my Ludisia discolor var. nigrescens looks like (similar, haven't taken actual picture yet), then please have a look at my photo album

Fren, What type of lycaste do you have? I learned a ton about them today. So, I'm very interested....I guess I could check your photo album to see if it's there.

I have a Lycaste aromatica. It is a yellow one and was recommended for beginners, the other related species are also good. It's name also suggests that it is fragrant
I will post a picture soon when it opens
