You win some you lose some. I was awfully fond of that plant. I think I need another Orchid to cheer myself up.
It's hard to loose a plant that you've had for so long. I'd feel just awful if I lost my Oxalis.
I think an orchid would be just the pick me up you need! After all...you have an empty spot now where the violet was sitting. You can fill it with an orchid and your boy friend might never notice the change!

He would notice, Ive only two flowering and another one about to produce for me. I went another route. I rang the OH, who is in germany to tell him I had been bold.

He asked me how many Orchids I had bought, I told him none, making him very happy. However the fact I bought a five foot Cherry Blossom tree and two clematis and threatened to plant it in pots in the front room. Orchids dont seem so bad now.

One I got looks like this: http://www.sloatgardens.com/images/J...matis1_000.JPG

Nibbler you are bold!

My Mom has that clematis in her front yard. It's very pretty! I am going to plant some clematis along my back fence this summer. The fence is very ugly and I'm hoping to completely hide it from view.

I like climbing plants. Sweet pea and roses are fabulous but they leave the fence visable during winter...... now all I need is a garden.

Carol the enabler........... I think you are completely right. Both would be far better. Any suggestions on another Orchid?
