Gastrochilus acutifolius

Does anyone out there have a Gastrochilus acutifolius?? I got mine from a wonderful friend in November and it came in bud. Since then, it hasn't done much but blast it buds. It's in the process of blasting it's last two buds as we speak. It is mounted on tree fern and gets direct to indirect sun depending on the day (more afternoon sun then anything). The humidity here is in the 30's to 50's and I do have a humidifier going. It gets watered in the morning and at night (if it has sufficiently dried out since the morning dunk). I think there is a new leaf starting to poke out.. I guess my question is how does everyone grow their Gastrochilus acutifolius??? Any suggestions or comments?

Generally in the 70's during the day. Can go into the 60's at night.

How are the roots? Any new roots? Any damaged roots? Any dead ones; if so, how many (round about number is good enough)?

No damaged or dead roots. I think it has about 5-7 good ones? I'm attaching a photo of it when I first got in in November. It looks the same now minus the green buds.

I'm guessing it's the humidity.

I pulled up Jay's Internet Orchid Encyclopedia and looked it up.

It says that they're from mossy forests in pretty humid tropical countries such as Myanmar and Vietnam.

I'm using the fact that it grows on trees that have moss on them as a guide.

Perhaps if you're able to raise the humidity to 50% or higher would be better.

Try that out. See what happens.

Everything else looks fine.

Thanks Erce and King! Both of you have been wonderful! I did some rearranging today and have now situated the gastro on a bed of soaked moss. It's now underneath the mist from the cool air mister and the humidity around it has been bumped up to at least 52%. Keep your fingers crossed this does the trick! I also re-looked at the roots King and there are way more roots then I originally thought. There must be at least 10 strong, thick green roots. I will keep ya'll updated on it's progress Thanks again for all your help and assistance. It's been greatly appreciated!
