Default Be careful what you eat around orchids

My father in law was taking care of the orchids while I was on vacation. He was eating a mix of nuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds while he was watering some of the plants. Some of the seeds fell in one of the pots and they actually grew! I had to pull the weeds out before they took over.

most people roast those types of seeds before eating them. and it looks like there's dried corn in there too, which is somewhat odd for a nut & seed mix - unless he was eating bird food?
