Default cut or leave alone

I repotted my Phal about a week ago. It's in a clear, slotted pot. Today I took a look at it and saw a brown, mushy root. Other roots look ok (green, firm). Do I take the plant out and cut the bad root or leave it alone? I dont' want to keep disturbing it but I'm afraid of the rot spreading.

I would just snip it off, it would bug me. I think leaving it is likely to cause more damage. Just lift it gently and try and keep the roots in the same position they were in. I'm not that experienced but that is what I would do.
