Has anyone in the group tried transitioning/growing their Vandas (in particular, larger plants) in a pot? I’ve seen a few videos on potting in semi-hydro and even bark/perlite mix. I would love to try potting, but I’m nervous about shocking my V. Mimi Palmer.

Does this answer your question?

Don’t damage a bunch of roots, grow in the proper environment, and water correctly, and shock will not be a factor.

Note that this is a really old thread (last prior post was in 2009). It is better to start a new one with new questions.

Glass vase culture is the way to do it, a hybrid of being potted and bare root. It's the way I grow all my vandas. If bare root, just coil the roots into your chosen vase or if grown in bark just shake it off.

There is a "sticky thread" at the top of the Vanda Alliance-Other forum with lots of good information on the technique.
