ive decided either bark or s/h but im still not sure// i have a phalenopsis

I'm just north of Philly.

A phal will do well in semi-hydroponics, and bark as well, although you may need to water it more often in the bark.

umm. its inside, gets filtered sun and gets hot in summer and real cold in winter
