Anyone have problems with spray bottles that stop working?

Great, and I just bought four new (made in China I'm sure) squeezy spray bottles. Until today I only had one spray bottle to do all my plants and do all the different mixes. It's still using the same spray bottle that I got a year ago. I think I even got it at Wal-Mart of all places.
I like the new ones I just got thought. They have measurement marks on the outside for easy reference.

Mine works just fine, despite daily use since last june. My previous one died after 2 years of use. But maybe I don't use it as intensively as you do, I only have 5 mounted orchids that I mist twice a day, and 35 other orchids that get the top of the medium misted.
In France I don't use a normal spray bottle. I have one of those sprayers that you pump to build the pressure, then hold the trigger down and it sprays a long time.

Thats right Camille, the pressure pumps are the long lasting durable one. They come in a few sizes too.
I've had mine for years -- I use these outside too. They cost a bit more, but its money well spent for sure

They don't cost all that much. I have a small 1L one for the orchids, I must have paid it less than 6€. I have a 10L one for the yard and garden, and got it on sale really cheap! The advantage with these things (other that being more durable) is that your fingers don't get tired out like with a normal sprayer. I don't know about you, but after prolonged use of the normal sprayer, my hand hurts!

I also got one of these, the one-gallon-size, 12 bucks at Home Depot. It rocks. Two gallons (two fills), and I can water my whole collection of 80 'chids in under 15 minutes. Plus you can fine-tune the width and volume of the spray on the nozzle. Nifty.

Wow this is amazing this is a world wide phenomenon extending from North Americas to Europe to Asia.
Someone should invent a hassle free sprayer and get a Nobel for that .

I've got the best sprayer in the world now!!
After trying out a few nozzles to get everything fine tuned, all I need to do is flick the switch and it automatically sprays my thousands of plants three times a day for ten minutes.

I had one like this, a 1 litre sprayer, and i just loved it!
But then my daughter got hold of it, took it apart, and lost one of the smallest parts...
Now im using a regulare sprayer, but i will definately buy a new pressure pump as soon as i have the extra money(finance crisis sucks big time)

I find that it helps to coat the plunger with a little wax every now and then. I also avoid buying cheap spray bottles made in china they just don't last . Our locally manufactured bottles are far superior as yours would be if made in the USA. I also find that you dare not drop the cheaper spray bottles as the handles break off . They are not made from a impact resistant plastic and shatter very easily. Our locally manufactured bottles can take that sort of punishment with ease. The only way to force manufacturers from producing shoddy goods is to return it for a refund every time it fails

Yes no more sore hands and arms with those prissy spray bottles - pumps with pressure is where its at
