Default Salu Peoker #1 and Lambaba Cutey

Hey all,

Went to the orchid show at the New York Botanical Gardens last week, had a wonderful time. Highly recommended if you're in the area (especially since they cancelled the one in Rockefeller Center last year. In keeping with my (now 2 year) tradition, I picked up a couple of orchids.

This year was a Salu Peoker #1 and a Onc. Lambaba Cutey. Both were partially in bloom with plenty of buds and are now flowering like crazy (gorgeous yellow on the Salu and a nice red/yellow on the Lambaba).

The Lambaba is about ready to burst out of its 2/3" square plastic container (they helpfully included a slightly larger clay pot for each). It also has four flower spikes and 9-10 pseudobulbs. Need to do research on a) the best time to transplant it and b) whether to try splitting it.

The Salu has one nice long spike with flowers and another flower spike growing at a 30 degree angle underneath a nice sized leaf. Almost missed it when I first bought it!

Pictures to follow
