Default Problems

Gave two co-workers Phalaenopsis orchids for Christmas. One is doing great. The other one lost all its flowers, so my co-worker moved it into my office which has a large window (eastern exposure). The plan still feels a little moist to me though one leaf is a little shriveled and another one just fell off. The leaf that fell off was mushy and soft. Any thoughts???

Also, have two Phals at home. One of them had about 8 small buds. About 5 opened and the other three turned yellow and shriveled up. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Have you checked the roots? Moisture in the pot, but leaves shrivelling sounds like lack of roots....possibly due to root.......due to overwatering or breakdown of potting media?

Yellowing and dropping buds sounds like Bud Blast. Buds on orchid plants are very sensitive to environmental changes. Possibly humidity is low, buds were subject to disagreable temp change, poor root system to support flowering?

Thanks. I think I'm going to go back to where I bought it (local place-- los angeles) and see what they think. My friend has only had the orchid for 3 weeks.
