Default Repotting Party! (Catt)

Good Evening.

In June 2008 I made a cut in my Catt, five pseudobulbs on each side, planning to repot it when I had the time.

I finally picked up a heavy terra cotta pot capable of dealing with the weight of this top-heavy, large-leaved plant, and repotted it tonight.

As you can see, I had all the necessary tools available: shears, shiraz, and soil.

It's always interesting to see what happens inside the pot--each pseudobulb develops its own set of roots and looks as if it could sustain itself without the others. Has anyone ever successfully made one or two pseudobulbs separate on their own?

I think you are asking if you can divide a catt ,and use only a couple of bulbs for the division, You can but the ideal is to have a least 3 bulbs with leaves, anything less it takes longer to flower and your success level goes down. Saying this if I divide a plant and have 2 bulbs left I pot them rather than throw them away ,can always be good to give to a friend or trade..

Your plants look pretty good. I'd just be careful about giving them too much of that red stuff in that glass too soon.LOL
