Wow...how your garden grows! This is still mind boggling to me. They look great, justa. Honestly I don't have any space left for any plant in the house. That has been taken up by our books. They just seem to multiply uncontrollably!

I have many growing areas since I have so many things but here are pictures of the main greenhouse which I gutted and redid this past summer.

How do you cope with all the differant light needs for all the differant types you grow in one location.

My greenhouse has many different levels of light. I am continuously moving things to find the best spots for the plants I have. I don't always get it right but for the most part it seems to work OK. I have been growing most of my plants for years and have pretty much learned what they like. Orchids is a different story and I am definitely learning.

Harry, your greenhouse looks like a facinating place and there are many happy plants in there. That would also make a good thread where people discuss how they deal with different levels of light and different micro-climates in their greenhouse. Thank you for sharing.

Hami . we very rarely keep plants indoors. Bec here inside our homes do not provide enough heat. Its cool there. to maintain heat we keep them outdoors.
In your homes its heated isn't it? therefore plants can live. we keep plants on the pavements to maintain shade. I keep my Anthuriums near the out door walls. And hang orchids on trees or fix them on trunks of coconut trees. They love to live on them.we get 12 hours day sun light and sharp 12 hours night.
I do not know whether they grow in dark time.
I water them during nights too. After office. My mom grew like that way. They were happy. Its a open question I love to get replies whether they can grow in night times. Bec after 6 pm we we put on lights.
Here we can see the orchids growth.one inch per day.

Yes, I don't keep plants indoors 'cos I grew up with the msg that if we do we ought to put them out at night. So that is a minus for me. I put those that don't need too much sun out in the varanda. I don'd maintain that many trees in my compound except for a young rambutan and two coniferous trees. I find the latter not suitable for hanging orchids as the dry needlelike leaves remain in the pots for a very long time and I don't think it is good for the orchids. I am trying to move one of my orchid stand further away from them but then it is also near our garden pipe............

Your orchids grow 1in. per day? Nice observation, thakshila. I would need to take out my measuring tape now...heheh. I suppose they do grow at night.
