bumps and dents on phap and phal leaves
Default bumps and dents on phap and phal leaves

I have a small collection and am very new to orchids. I've noticed some changes on leaves on 2 of them.

1) a phap that I just brought in to the house 1 week ago. The leaves have developed dents on all of the leaves and the leaves have become ruffled (wavy, but not pleated) edges. The dents have no color and no holes have developed. The bloom has not changed at all. I've watered 3 times since I've had it and sprayed it once or twice with water.

2) a phal that I've had for 1 year. Fully blooming when brought into the house and dropped it's blooms within a week (I believe the cause was cold shock from husband hiding this Christmas gift on the unheated back stairs). It hasn't rebloomed, but the leaves and roots have been healthy and growing since. This one has developed colorless bumps and colorless dents. Not all of the leaves are affected. I repotted this one approx 3 weeks ago and the phap and phal have not been in the same room since repotting. This one was also misted

I've misted and watered all the plants at the same time.

Meanwhile my mutant super blooming, no roots, kekis producing phal is still going strong

Any ideas what could be causing these issues?

Welcome aboard tallullah

With you're paph it could be a water issue and a heat issue. Have you checked the roots?
Can't say without some photo of the leaves.

We need more information from you about you're growing conditions.

With your phal is could be some scale, these life sucking pests come in a range of colors, some with slightly different shapes, all will enbed themselfs into the plants.

Photo's will help us to learn more

I'll post photos later tonight.

I'm in MA and keep them in a very sunny bathroom. The windows are covered, so they get filtered light. Temp is pretty steady at 66 - 70. I haven't done any measurements on humidity. They are not on humidity trays.
