Default Ever been to Barbados? They got Orchids

I went back in 1998 and visited thier botanic gardens, they have about 6 green houses full of Orchids. I had never seen soo many orchids, or so many beautiful flowers in one place! I remember they even had a stream running along all the green houses, and their were toads doing their toady things their. I was in heaven on that visit. So I was just curious, has anyone else been there?

Default yeah!

I was there - but I was too young and had no idea what an orchid was when I went. Ask Maria on orchidboard.com - she knows exactly what you are talking about! Now, I would like to go back specifically to go to the gardens!

As would I, I was a little to ignorant about Orchids at the time to know what I was looking at, but I knew I liked them. My best memory of the place was that many of the orchids were extremely fragrant.

Default Barbados and Orchids

I have been to the Orchid Gardens twice. Rather out of the way and down many back roads. Absolutely an amazing amount of orchids. And the fragrance! Unbelievable. There are hundreds of Vandas growing on a "wire fence" suppported by mahogany "fence posts". Many, many Cats. A must see for anyone visiting the island.
