Default Peach Fuzz? Please help!

Hi Everyone! I recently re-potted my oncidium because I noticed that there was a very fine layer of what looked like peach fuzz on top of the potting medium after I watered it. It's just on top of the potting medium, and I thought it was best to re-pot it. I removed all of the old medium, rinsed off the roots, and put it in a new pot. All was well for about a week, and today, after watering it, I noticed that the peach fuzz was on top of the potting medium again. Is there a reason why this stuff keeps appearing after each watering? Any suggestions?? What is it? I only water the orchid once a week. Please help!

How's the airflow around the orchid? It could be that the moisture and humidity + ambient temperature is causing mold. You could try placing a small fan by your pot...?

Sounds like common mold. I spray with a Physan 20 solution.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Default Peach Fuzz

Thanks for the tips! I was thinking it was an airflow problem. I'll try the fan. I also moved them by the window and hopefully opening them at night will help.

Thanks!
