When this Oncidium need to pot? Female
Default When this Oncidium need to pot?

Hi OB,

I had oncidium brought from TJ and it was looking very healthy, but not sure why it declined and all the Pbulbs rot except one back pbulb, very small, I just kept it in ICU with spag and bag method along with other Cats without roots, and now it has grown two small roots along with growth. It's still teeny-tiny growth but curious to know what need to do next, should I keep it in the same bag and how long or pot it in a separate small pot with sphagnum moss.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks..

I would pot it up now. It has roots, so can take up water and nutrients, but it doesn’t have a lot of mass to tap into for chemical resources, so unless you start applying a moderate amount the them regularly, it won’t have enough to survive.

Thanks Ray.

I think I will go with potting it soon as you mentioned the Pbulb won't look have much energy to support the growth.

Thanks.
