Phal Bellina - Remove Damaged Leaf or Not? Female
Default Phal Bellina - Remove Damaged Leaf or Not?

Hello Orchid Board Experts – Over a year ago I suffered a horrific “false/flat” mite infestation. It killed most of my phal bellinas. This one survived and has grown a healthy leaf with no damage!

I want to remove this leaf in the worst way, but should I? (The other old leaves have significant damage, but not to the level of this largest one.) To cut or not. . .that is the question. Thanks so very much, ROBB

I don't cut anything off unless I must. It is still providing considerable photosynthetic function. The plant will grow more slowly without it.

"Ugly" is not a good enough reason to cut. The plant will drop it when it's no longer useful. Especially with that rough episode, don't add to the insult...
