Default new dendrobium hekouense looking rough

Hello, new member and orchid lover here, excuse me if I'm doing this wrong (posting in the wrong section, etc).

I bought these 2 cute little dendrobium hekouense from Orchids by Hausermann. They looked the same when I got them a month ago, but a week ago, despite having the same conditions, one started looking a bit rougher than the other. The leaves are turning red, yellow, and purple, shriveling and falling off!

Is it because they are deciduous and it detects the nights getting colder (even though we're inside)? It's possible that maybe one is affected first but the other one will follow shortly.

Another possibility... Is it too thirsty? I spritz it 2x a day when the moss seems crispy. They are newly mounted and I know they require more water but maybe I am overdoing it. Another thing... maybe I mounted that one too tightly?

What do the experts think? Thanks :D

The plants can tell fall is coming by shorter daylight length, cooler temps, and dryer conditions. The plant is probably going into dormancy. The days are shorter, cooler, and your home might have much less humidity than their home greenhouse.

During active growth, the plant should not dry out so water before the spaghnum moss becomes crispy.

I am no expert on this species, I got mine from Diamond orchids recently. But if it is any consolation, mine is just finishing blooming and has lost most of its leaves. I’m going to move it to an aquarium I am setting up in a cool windowsill to overwinter species that like those temps. Fingers crossed.

I haven't grown this. Call Hausermann and ask about how moist to keep it. They are very helpful.
