soak it in water overnight then repot it in phalaenopsis orchid mix. Do not think that your plant needs a 'Philippine environment'....it was grown in a lab and needs just that kind of environment. You are in zone 10a and its summer so the humidity in your area is just fine. Water every other day and in colder months weekly....you do not have the right environment for growing orchids in a bark....growing in a bark needs high humidity and morning dew....

a mixture of fresh fir bark, perlite, coarse peat and dust sphagnum moss....if you cannot find it online, maybe go to an orchid sellers farm near you
