Is my Delnatii burnt? Female
Default Is my Delnatii burnt?

I recently got some botanical LED lights and set them a bit too close (I assume its weak enough since its low light type for phals). My delantii has this rusty red at the tip but that rest of the plant looks great. Is this just physical damage or is this sun burn or?

Looks to me like just a bit of physical damage.

If you think they're getting too much heat, I'd just feel the leaves... if not warm to the touch, you're probably fine. If the lights are OK for Phals, the Paph shouldn't have a problem.

word of caution with LEDs. several months ago I started moving from the windowsill to LED. I thought I had calibrated thing correctly (i.e. I splurged on a quantum PPAR meter and used a common HDO recommendation for 200-250 umol/m2/s for std catts) and found after a couple weeks that I was way overdosing them on light. Burn from LED isn't like from sunlight and is hard to describe. Leaves were not warm but the plants were obviously stressed and unaccustomed to "good light" since they were getting much less on the northeast windowsills. That being said I agree with Roberta and don't think your paph shows signs of excess light.

Thanks Jmoney! I got the low light one from botanical LEDs and while my neofinetia are 6-8 inches, the delnatii is more like 11 inches away diagonally. I shall monitor carefully!
