Organic fertilizer question

I was perusing herebutnot.com and was intrigued to find that he supplements with bloodmeal as part of his fertilizer regimen. I'm wondering if anyone else uses or has used organic fertilizers and their thoughts are.

No matter the source, the ions absorbed by the plants are identical.

When folks change fertilizers, they will often “see” and improvement to their plants. Most often, that “improvement” originates in two basic ways:

1) It is a wishful figment of the imagination.
2) Now that they have found a new “fad” product, they are paying better attention, and the plants are getting the care they should have been getting all along.

If you put blood or bone meal on plants every carnivore within reach will try to dig them up - cats and dogs included.
