Default Foot candle range for 2 shade cloth % - & general light levels

I have recently set up two shade houses. One is at 60%, and the other 40%.

I would appreciate suggestions as to how to divide my orchids between them. I believe I have a good sense for most of my plants, but I would like some verification.

What range of foot-candle light requirements would do best in the 60% house, and what would do best in (at least the light level of). the 40%?

I know there are various other considerations, but I would appreciate a simple answer as to a division between the two. shade houses.

Also, on orchid species.com, there are these light classifications: full shade, dappled, partial, bright. light, full light. How would these translate to foot-candles, or to shade percentage?

If you take 10,000 fc as the max at noon, your two shade houses would have maximum levels of approximately 4000 & 6000fc.

The Bakers did a pretty good breakdown of descriptions:

The person you want to hear from is Roberta. She grows outside under shade cloth in Southern California. Find one of her posts here. Her Web site is in her signature block.
