Hello (for the first time) from China Female
Default Hello (for the first time) from China

I must explain this. My name is Greg, and I am also an Orchidboard member. I have a great friend in Zhongshan China that is unable to become an Orchidboard member because of the 'great China firewall' that is blocking Orchidboard.

Her name is Zora, and she is a fantastic lady. I consulted with moderator Roberta of Orchidboard, and here is what we are doing:

I have set-up Zora with her own Orchidboard ID (Zora in Zhongshan) and we are using an email address of mine, dedicated only to Zora and Orchidboard so that members here can send replies directly to Zora in Zhongshan.

I promise to send your replies directly to Zora. She is very excited to be able to do this. So please welcome her. It takes a lot of extra work and time to do this for both of us.

I have copied and pasted her own introduction words (below) and she has sent great pictures.

Hello everyone,

Warm greetings from China. My friend Greg invited me to join this Forum to share and discuss everything about Orchids. I'm Excited!

The reason why I am fascinated by growing orchids is because he sent me dozens of orchids when he left China, and I found out the weather in place where I live (zhuhai, Guangdong) is so good for orchids. Honestly, I didn't pay too much attention to them, but they've been growing so strong and healthy. Some of them bloom every year. So beautiful

Later, I got dozens of phals and several dendrobes and Oncidium hybridums. Phals are my favorite because they have a long flower period and are easy to manage. Now I have over 40 plants and I buy new ones every year because some of them would die in hot weather. Yes, I never worry about winter, only summer problems.

I'm very happy to show my orchids here and learn more orchid knowledge from people from all over the world.

***Edit: I can now receive emails at my home in China: gjanick@protonmail.ch and now I can also send you my own replies by this email program. Thanks Greg (LOL).

Hello Zora, nice to meet you!
You have some beautiful blooms there - I especially like the second and ninth ones - my kind of colours!
My husband loves the orange ones - his favourite colour!
Do you grow your orchids indoors or outdoors?

Thank you, I love purple as well. I grow them outdoors because here is warm and humid.
