I hope that's true! Orchids living a longer life are a good thing.

3% wouldn't likely harm anybody but it would probably induce a Technicolor yawn.

Veterinarians tell people to induce vomiting in dogs who have swallowed the wrong thing. The dose is about 1ml per 500g/pound. Do this outside! It works fast. It's very difficult the next time.

Speaking from experience, this is an understatement. Lol
A small syringe (no needle) or medicine dropper helps get it in their mouth. Walking them around a little after they swallow the H2O2 helps the process too.

Kinda surprised there hasn’t been a H2O2 challenge on social media. Tide pods, cinnamon, maybe H2O2 isn’t deadly enough to make the cut?

1ml per pound but people could also compete for how much they could swallow before....

The company I retired from purchased the DuPont Hydrogen Peroxides business. There were guys in their lab who used to "impress" people by seeing how long they could hold 50% peroxide in their mouths.

I think the record was but a few seconds, but NONE of them ever had any dental issues!

Hydrogen Peroxide - Toxic to Orchid Roots
Default H2O2 Alternative

I literally just finished spraying hydrogen peroxide on several my Phals when I came across this thread. The top of a few roots turned black where they are exposed to air before they enter the Leca media. When I sprayed it with Hydrogen Peroxide the root bubbled and fizzed like it is infected. Is there an alternative spray I can use? Should I cut off the black root? The portion under the Leca beads appear to be green and healthy.

The fizzing is root tissue...such as the microscopic hairs that do some of the root's work. So that's why it's so bad on roots. Don't worry about the black color... could even just be a reaction to light. With an open medium like LECA, you should not have much problem with root rot - what Phal roots need is humid air, not sopping wet. If they are green it's fine. Certainly don't cut.
