Default I need Phalaenopsis Help!!!

I attached some photos.

My white Phal bloomed 12 flowers this year, 5 are left after almost 2 months. I started to notice these weird spots on the leaves.

I'm in LA so it is 80-90, not too humid, the Phal isn't close to any soggy areas or very cold windows. Also not in direct sunlight at all.

Do you think it needs a repot? Maybe a fungus or something? I have a bottle of Physan...

The roots below look veryyyy healthy, definitely some dead ones in there though.

Based on the pictures, I don’t see anything to be concerned about. Watch the spots and report back if they get bigger, change, or if more show up.

Sometimes blemishes like this happen without an obvious cause, minor physical damage, random lone sucking insect, but most of the time it’s just a cosmetic issue. The pattern looks wrong for sunburn. There’s a type of cell collapse (mesophilic ? don’t remember the spelling) that can happen if cold water sits on leaves, but I’m not sure your plant damage matches.

For now, don’t do anything drastic. No treatments needed.

As for repotting, when was it last repotted and how does the medium look?

Have a look at a sticky thread here. From the left yellow menu choose Forums then Beginners. Near the top is The Phal. abuse stops here.

It looks like water droplets that kind of baked the upper epidermis of the leaf. Orchids have gogeous leaves but often they start to look a bit flea-bitten because of tiny mistakes.

I have gone to using something like this squeeze bottle with a nozzle to avoid getting water on the leaves. Often it doesnt matter, but in cool situations where the water does not evaporate quickly (like in the winter) it can.

The medium still looks good, I repotted probably about a year ago. Doesn't smell weird or look rotten, still solid bark.

The dark spots have gotten a little bigger...I'll post an update if they get real scary

It looks like the changes are still part of the original damage, which is a good thing. New damage would be a bad sign but slow progression and “finalization” of existing damage is much less scary. Still doesn’t look like anything crazy to my eyes. I have a Phal with similar black spots. It had a couple when I was gifted it and it developed a few more over the first couple of weeks in my care. Since then no new ones have occurred and the old ones haven’t changed and the plant is VERY healthy and growing like gangbusters. I keep an eye on the spots but I’m not worried about them.

I did repot it shortly after arrival, and edema was a potential suspect in my case. Maybe repot it for good measure? A year isn’t an unreasonable time to do that.
