Root has no place to go
My mounted neo has one root happily climbing on and into a crevice of its mounted wood. The problem is, the crevice has no opening and the root is now stuck deep in.
What happens to the root if this was in the woods? Mine certainly has no room to go forward or doing an "U turn". Should I wet it good and pull it out to find another path?

Roots don't move, they add cells at the growth tip. If it reaches a "dead end", it simply adds cells starting in a different direction.

Possibly yes but if the plant has energy the root may branch and explore other paths on its own.

Leave the root alone. If you try to wet it then pull it out of the crevice, you'll end up killing the root. They're supposed to do that when mounted. (Attach themselves firmly to the mount.)

The root is still moveable so the time to move it out is now. The issue is that the crevice is a tiny crack in the wood that has no opening. |

First photo shows the two roots stuck with no.place to advance their growth. Second photo shows the "free root".
Are you all in favor of doing nothing , for the first two?

Yes.
Do nothing = happy root attaching itself to wood. Happy, happy, happy roots.
Moving it around = dead root tip, or possibly an entire dead root.
The people that have given you the above advice have, cumulatively, probably 100+ years of experience growing orchids. 40 of those years are mine.
