"1. Make up a solution of sugar water, room temperature. This is 1 to 2 teaspoons of table sugar per gallon of water. (4-8 g to about 4 L)
2. Remove the packing from your orchid, and place the roots (not stem or leaves) into the sugar water solution. If you have more than one plant, prepare a different solution for each plant and soak them in separate containers.
3. Let the plants soak for 1 to 3 hrs in the sugar water solution.
4. Remove the plant from the solution and wash the roots off with more water (without sugar). Gently pat dry with a paper towel"
I was talking to my mom about different projects and the 1st thing she told me when I mentioned the 3 Phals and the challenge was; that if I didn't remember that I have to water with honey for revival. I was shocked because I didn't remember this trick at all and for a long time I haven't done it either. (1tbs x liter of water)

Also, told me 1) to put them in the bathroom for a week if it was winter here and I got condensation with the heater ... and also 2) to give all 3 a warm bath with leaves included and put them in tote raffia bad with a Bowl or glass of hot water inside the bag as well and closed with a couple of
clothes pegs, it should get open every day to let air flow and the hot water replace if possible.

I don't need those 2 last options since I have terrariums, but I thought it was nice to share the conversation.

My mom, unfortunately, has very little short memory and cannot move around much to take care of her orchids, but she still is a source of great knowledge or myths
