Strange new growth on Oncidium Male
Default Strange new growth on Oncidium

Hi, I’ve had my Oncidium Yellow Peacock for about two years now and it’s currently working on two new growths. One is perfectly normal looking, but the other looks like a combination of a flower spike and a new pseudobulb.. it looks as though another flower spike is growing only there are leaves along its stem and there are roots coming out of the base... I am beyond confused as to what’s going on. Does anybody know what this could be?

Looks like it may have gotten confused during early development. This is a"wait and see" situation.

Developmental anomalies like this do happen from time to time, but not often. Take pictures as it develops.
