I repotted mine while they were in bloom and they kept their flowers fine. I’m not sure if this will work for you as our growing conditions are different: I grow mine outside in coastal California with temps rarely above the high 70s.
I overpotted mine in clay (I used a clay pot about double the size of the pot they were in at purchase). I used a 1:1 mix of miracle grow orchid bark and the better Gro mix for Phalaenopsis. They don’t seem to like their roots disturbed so I just used the hose with a bit of pressure to spray out any loose old media before repotting. The new media was pretty hydrophobic and dry so I put the pot I a bucket and soaked it for an hour. Then I watered to keep them moist but not sopping. I try not to let them ever dry out.
On my first one, I waited until it finished blooming, then I did a thorough clean up removing all the media and dead roots: it died. The next three I did the above on. I’ve had them over a year now and two are currently in bloom and the third is in bud. I bought another three this spring and followed the same process, so far they’re doing fine too.
I bought all of mine from grocery stores where they were potted in a peat type mix. I can’t keep roots alive in this type of mix so I repot within a day or two of purchase. All of them kept their existing flowers and any new buds they were pushing matured fine.
