Phal Orchids planted in driftwood

Hi, I've got an interesting situation. I've planted 2 Orchids in holes in a piece of driftwood I found by the river. It was carefully inspected for health and lack of bugs. The orchids look healthy, leaves are thriving, roots are big and beautiful. On each Orchid however, one spike looks great and is budding and opening. The other spike on each orchid has lost all its flowers, and the new buds are just dying before they open. I used moss around the roots and shoved it down into the holes just like an instructional video showed me. There are also some accessory plants in with it all. They look pretty good. How recently do you attach them to the driftwood?

Bud blast and flower drop can be a response to stress and changes in growing conditions. If you just unpotted and mounted them then I would think that the plants are lessening their energy load in order to better be able to adjust to their new growing conditions and are also a tad stressed from being unpotted. Both are totally normal responses.

love the colours on the mini phals and the aloe vera looking great in the bark. Hopefully they are just suffering from a bit of stress.
