Orchids growing in my garden and not sure what kind!
Default Orchids growing in my garden and not sure what kind!

Hi my name is Heather and I am a new member. I just wanted to reach out and say hi to everybody and introduce myself. I have a question that you guys might be able to help me with. I have a fruit and garden vegetable and all of a sudden these onion looking bulbs all started to grow and turns out it grew one stem with a bunch of tiny orchid flowers. I cannot find anything online as to what these orchids are or how they even got in my garden and I was wondering if somebody on here might would know what kind of Orchids these are!

It might be Epipactis helleborine (or similar), which can be a tad invasive in some parts of the USA, though I have no idea where you live or what the climate is in your area. Without photos of the flowers, it's even harder to identify, so this is nearly a shot in the dark guess.

They could have gotten into your garden because someone planted them there. They could have gotten into your garden because they were there before you made the garden. They could have gotten into your garden from seeds that blew in from other plants in the area. Those are just a few guesses, but again, shots in the dark without any information to really back up if they're likely or possible.

Thanks for your reply. I am new to this. I tried to attach pictures of the flowers and everything. It should be 4 pictures. The closest orchid I can find to it is a Leek Orchid from Australia. I am in South Florida. So I doubt theycame from there lol. I will try to put the pics of the flowers up.

I see the photos, but wonder if the last 2 (flowers and potted plant) attached properly, and they are quite small once clicked on. Could you try attaching them again?

South Florida suggests it would probably be Eulophia graminea or similar.

I like orchids. Please show me how they look now. There are several types of orchids in my garden. They are great, but they require special care because if you don't take care of them, they can wither. I can say that of all the flowers that grow in my garden, I love roses and orchids the most. They are the main decoration in my garden. I also have a small pond where fish swim. And recently we made a fountain out of this pond using a solar water pump. If you want to know how it works, you can watch their review here woahtech.com. When our neighbors saw our pond, they also wanted to install one in their garden.

Definitely Eulophia graminea, they are a non-native species that tend to pop up in mulch in Florida.
