Disease or old leaf?
Default Disease or old leaf?

Got a small orchid and after repotting, I'm beginning to see a new leaf sprout up. The orchis is small and wasn't taken care of, so I'm not sure what was done to it before I got it. The original leaf (there was only one), is starting to yellow. At first it was at the tip and I wondered if I was over watering it. I watered it a bit less, and the yellowing is starting to head down the leaf.
The new leaf continues to slowly grow, and the root system looks pretty healthy. Is there a way I can determine if it's just a natural "shedding" of the older leaf or if there is something else wrong?

It looks like natural aging rather than disease to me. On the left of the picture, there is a straight line on the leaf--that would be mechanical damage of some kind, that bent the leaf. If the new leaf is growing, I would just continue normal Phal. care, remembering that the new leaf doesn't want to get fully dry before watering. Moist and airy is what you are aiming for, so don't cut back on watering too much.
