Vanda seedling care
Default Vanda seedling care

Hi there! I am looking for tips on caring for a vanda seedling, specifically any care requirements that might differ from caring for a mature vanda. There is little info online. I received this vanda (pictured) last week. It was likely sitting in a big box store for at least several weeks without water and very little light. The roots appear viable. I sprayed roots lightly with filtered water for first few days, and now soak them in water for about 30 minutes per day. I am easing it back into light. I’d appreciate any tips or advice for helping this little orchid on its way to healthy growth. Thanks in advance.

Adult Vanda and seedling Vanda should be cared for the same way unless they are fresh out of the flask.

It is just that seedlings are slightly less hardy.

I'm not an expert but I bought a seedling about 2 years ago, put it in a basket and I soak it every other day. I fertilize every other week and it's doing well. Very slow grower though but roots and leaves healthy. Also in a south facing window with lots of light.
