Thumbs up Flora's Orchids

Interestingly this book is also published in New Zealand and Australia by David Bateman where the Senior Consultant on the cover is listed as David.P.Banks, no mention of the names listed on the cover illustrated here. Presumably the content is the same and is valuable for beginners and advanced collectors alike, as well as making a fine coffee table book for all orchid lovers.Excellent descriptions of plants and growing conditions and at a cost of NZ$69 makes this one of the best books of its kind readily available in local bookshops.Excellent illustrations and text make it a must have book for enthusiasts. A valuable addition to the Orchid literature.Other books by David Banks are also well worth seeking out.In Australia and New Zealand, indeed worldwide, he is regarded very highly for his wealth of knowledge on orchids.

Great book. Well done and most useful. Organized so that the information is easy to find - and there is a lot of it!!! And it looks great on the coffee table.

Nice reference book to get started. Plenty of pictures and basic culture requirements for a broad range of genra. Doesn't cover every species but it will get you headed in the right direction.
