Thanks! I'm not sure, but I might have some more coming in bloom. They have new growths, and they might bloom! I can't wait to see.

Hey, I am new to orchids and have just gotten a stater kit for semi-hydrophonics. I am wondering if I can set up a vanda in S/H. I only have the one vanda, the others are Phals and Catts. I know they will do well grown this way. Anyone know?

I have no idea. I've never grown vandas, but welcome to the OB, though!

Personally, I recommend against vandaceous plants in semi-hydro culture, but like everything else related to orchid growing, "it depends."
If you are an in-home grower with a dry environment, you might be successful with them that way, or maybe just in LECA in a plastic pot with no reservoir, depending on how often you water and just hhow fast it dries out. I grow in a greenhouse, and generally grow them in no medium whatsoever.

clay pellets?
I'm new with orchids and as I read your posting I was wondering what is clay pellets? I have not yet posted my orchid collection but plan to real soon. I keep shopping for orchids and coming home and research on the internet before posting my pictures. I am proud to say I must be doing something right because I have new buds coming along and yet I have not killed any.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Semi-hydroponics
I was very interested to read the article on semi-hydroponics as I am in the process of converting my small collection to hydroponics or hydroculture as it is also called.
have used the 2 pot method where the outer pot holds the water but am now trying a different method where only one pot is used. However in order to monitor the water level the container must be transparent either of glass or clear plastic.
So far so good and I will be keeping a check on the plants which have been converted to this method. I am hoping it will work as it will make looking after the plants a lot easier and as they live in my study they look more attractive and are less likely to attract undesirables!

Hi
are those clay pellet thingies available in the UK? As I have a Cat that does not look very good. The p.bulbs are shrivelled as are the leaves! I have just removed it from the pot two days ago and the roots were all flat and empty and very soft. I have put it into a small pot of water just covering the roots and they have plumped up but it still does not look good. Any advice.
Hugs Joan
