This is our story
This is our second shot at growing orchids. We first started while living in Hamilton NZ back in 1993 and over short space of time along with two (past) friends Malcolm Campbell and Bill Fransen amassed quite a collection taking up 3 14x9 tunnel houses.

my story... i collected gardening book series. i think maybe there are 10 or so books that i have bought. a couple are my fave, as you guess the orchid book is was one of them. was as i have upgraded to better orchid books. there are plenty of cyms & catts in there and the flowers really captivated me.

on feb last year, i was hospitalised for 3 days. i asked my husband to bring me some books, that book was one of it. i spent my time reading that over & over. there was a visitor to a lady in my room that is an orchid nursery owner. she asked whether i have chids or not. i said no. chid is difficult. but i have other plants. she encouraged me to try out. she said sooner or later i'll collect as she saw the enthusiasm in me to orchids.

in april, after i was discharged, i found new arrival of orchids at my fave local nursery. i checked them out. then the assistant approach me and persuaded to try. he said its easy give a try. so i bring back 6 dens and the rest is history. i am a proud owner of about 300 chids now!
