Default Moving brassavola seedlings from flask

A new story entry has been added:

Moving brassavola seedlings from flask

Quote:
I recently acquired several mini-flasks of brassavola nodosa, b. digbyana, schom undulata var flava, c. violacea, and ctsm piletum. All of the seedlings are about to pop out of the mini flasks and I think I need to pot them. I would appreciate any advice as to what kind of medium is best to pot them in.

There are many variables, like size and age of the seedlings, and your growing conditions. Assuming optimal conditions, you could use a standard bark mix or a seedling bark mix. You could even mount a few directly out of the flask - all of these guys shoud do well mounted if your culture is good. Even if your culture is mediocre (like mine) they should do fine in a standard mix.

Just curious, does anyone know how long it will take from the flask to get your first flower on these?

Thanks.
