Default Cycnoches chlorochilon

A new story entry has been added:

Cycnoches chlorochilon

Quote:
Here you are a wonderful species that it'a ideal for beginner because of its temperature tollerant and his showy flowering.
The flowers may be female or male and it depends by the quantity of light and humidity.
Few light+high humudity: male
Lot of light+low humidity: female
The flowers are long.lasting and banana-spice fragrant; give a long rest after flowering until a new shot compares.

Thanks Francesco for the post!!
I've heard about the ease of culture this species especially in flat. But, which is the difference between chicnoches and chicnodes? Are they similar for culture conditions?

I think I can answer this one. Cycnoches is the species while Cycnodes is a cross between Cycnoches and Mormodes

Hi to all! I grow my Cycn. chlorochilon in white sphagnum moss in a 4" pot. I usually re-pot only when they start rooting on their new growth and water and fertilize heavily, as soon as they establish them selves, during this time until they finish flowering or as soon as they start dropping their leaves. I usually mist them enough not to dry up the psuedobulbs.

Here is a picture of the flower of my plant.

Male flower
