Default Back lighting

One question: When using a white/pale background, do you ever experiment with back-lighting?
Backlighting is very difficult to use successfully without merely silhouetting the flowers. I've messed around with it but found that some side-lighting or front lighting is usually needed as well. There's a picture in my gallery of an Epicatt that is more or less backlighted against a light background: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...hp?photo=18888.
Betoguerrero,
I have a Canon EOS Rebel with a 28-80 lens. I've always used a bellows for the tiny flowers, but my old bellows doesn't fit this camera, so I have to figure out something else and haven't decided yet what I want to do.
This is the second time I have read of using a bellows. After reading your article, I did some research and they actually make one that fits my D60. I'm not sure I wanna get into that yet but wondered what you decided what to do yet?

Hi Swamper,
At the time I wrote the article I had not done anything, but since then have purchased a macro lens (90mm tamron) and while it is not quite a versatile as a bellows, it does amazingly good work. To get what I was able to do with a bellows I would probably have to purchase another macro, perhaps 65mm to get the really tiny subjects, but that's not in the budget. I should say that I have never had so much fun with a camera as doing macro work with my tamron lens.
