Default On the trail-winding pathways

In todays mail I want to add the bulbo pieces on the trees..

Bulbophyllum- some times i wonder what this genera can hold.. some of them so inconspicous while others are bold , but one thing while in bloom they make their presence felt with their often wild smells...
Sometimes they travel almost 50 to 100 feet all the way to the tree tops and whn prsent they are always in clusters..
some have conical psuedos while others might have real ribbed psuedos.. almost all of them having a stem that travels along with the roots ..
To see them in bloom at some time in nature one has to have a lot of patience..

B.poudlockii, B.fuscopurpureum, B.neilgherrense, B.tremulum,B.elegantulum, B.fischeri, B.nodosum, B.kaitiense well several of them growing one over the other in clusters..

I wonder how other sites across other bulbo growing zones will look like.. If some one out there who is a bulbo fan can add pictures of the bulbo sites I would like that..
Thanks
JAGS

Talking about the Host trees.. well orchid and the host they are tow inseperable twins in the orchid world.. especially for epiphytes... the tree dwellers as they are known as..
They have a fascination only for certain trees and that also certain aged specimens .. like teak, neem, mango etc..found containing a lot more endemic species than others..

Even the wild ones have a go at the orchids..
see to believe.. some times you can ask them to take a photo and send them down..

In every way orchids like the bark and the food they get their and natural watering cycles..

more to go on the orchid trails..

It's amazing that 'in captivity' we try to take the best care possible and in the wild they thrive like weeds - without anyone's supervision.

more of it or less of it .. the orchids have the magic of captivating one and all with their charm ..
whether it is botanicals with minute flowers that can be seen only with a lens or binoculars are large specimens that behold your attention and rivet you to the sight that is more mesmerising orchids have all the variations that one can think of in plantn form, shape, hobits, hosts, flowers, patterns, colors, and diversity.

In the above tree you the cymbidium aloifolium perched on the tree and growing without any hassles.
More on the next journey
