Does anyone know of a good source for PNG Dendrobium species? They are not common here in the US at all, so at this point I am looking to import.

Thanks in advance.

Wish I had the conditions to grow them. What are you looking for? There are a couple on ebay right now, one from bayview77, from whom I've purchased and been happy.
A parvulum, too, from a seller I don't think I've bought from, for a mere 199.99. Starting bid.

Yair (bayviewjew77) is the only US seller I've ever seen offer D. masangarense. He usually has one or two species available, and is a top quality seller. Be prepared to pay for them, but that's the way an auction works

That seller (awesomeplants) charges outrageous prices, but people (myself included!) buy his stuff. The plants are excellent, his service is excellent, and the plants are well packed. You won't get off cheap, but you won't be surprised or disappointed when you open the box.

Have you checked with Andy's Orchids? http://andysdorchids.com If you don't see what you want on the website, inquire by email - the website is only a small fraction of what he has and new acquisitions happen all the time. (Given the number of species that Andy has, some in only small quantity, it would be physically impossible, I think, to keep the website current and complete, he doesn't even try)

Your thread chrisc147 has got me searching for PNG orchids with great interest thank you.

The PNG orchids from different altitudes is fascinating.

Some great looking plants & flowers as well.

Searching in Australia has lead me to a orchid nursery west of Cairns in the Atherton Tablelands called Stockers' Nursery Orchids and bromeliads for collectors.

Their climate would be very similar to ours but we do not get frost and they do even though they are technically in the tropics.

They do not have an on line store but there is a phone number and address.

The search info is a bit old but I will check it out when I get a chance.

H&R Nurseries in Hawaii sells a lot of dendrobiums, not sure if they have what you are looking for, but definitely worth checking.
