Micropera proboscidea Potential Size? Male
Default Micropera proboscidea Potential Size?

Hi,

I am considering purchasing a Micropera proboscidea, but am uncertain as to the eventual size. The website that has it listed for sale has it designated as a size N, which according to their classification means a mature plant measuring anything between 15 and 50 cm. However, the IOSPE website has it listed as a giant species which means anything over 48" tall. Excluding the pot, the site I have in mind will be able to accommodate an orchid up to 60cm tall, so if IOSPE is accurate this particular species would be unsuitable. I know it's not a commonly cultivated species, but I wonder if anyone here has experience with it and can advise me as to it's growth habits and ultimate potential size.

Kindest regards,
Alex
