Default Vanda with 3 keikis no bloom

I am wondering why my hybrid vanda pranerm orbate x asc. Butterfly keeps sending shoots and not blooming. The 2 shoots are almost 6-7 inches with good roots and the other one is aroubd 4 with some roots. I am thinking of separating the 2 spikes so the vanda will concentrate in blooming. Any suggestions?

I don't recommend separating the keikis from the mother plant, especially if the keikis don't have any roots on them.

What's your growing conditions like? I'm interested particularly in the light levels.

My orchids are outside 24/7 under black net. Fertilizer is just rice wash. Tye keikis have good roots actually some roots are same length as the mother plant except for the smallest keiki. One keiki has 4 main roots with subroots its visible since its poking sideways from the keikis.

How much light is the "black net" letting through, do you know?

75 percent my other vanda hybrid like Gordon Dillon, Roberts Delight have blooms just this one. Giving me keikis. The vanda is healthy so with the keikis. Just don't know why it wont bloom.

Maybe it needs a lower temperature drop.

What I mean is that maybe the temperatures may need to drop lower than what you have the other Vandas growing in.

I mention this because your Vanda has Ascocentrum in it. Some Ascocentrum grow cool.

The temperature might need to drop down to 55 F for a week or two before it blooms.

Thanks, maybe it will bloom soon since rainy season is coming soon and it would be a bit cooler. Crossing my fingers.

I'm curious to know if this might be the reason, if it blooms, please do post a progress report.

Another reason is that it might not be the correct blooming season yet.

Will do but I think you are right my other vanda is V. virat x Gordon Dillon 2 spikes now, mokaras like chao praya, mokara Jairak, mokara ruby red and other vanda are in blooms exceot for these because like what you said is a x of Ascocenda. Just do not know why it gives me 3 spikes. I removed all 3 awhile ago. All 3 keikis has good roots same length as the mother plant. Mother plant has lots of roots as well. Hope it really blooms.
