Two Mounts in need of plants Male
Default Two Mounts in need of plants

Actually I have a lot more than two, but since they are all large, I have been considering putting different plants together on the same mount. This gets complicated quickly since some like to dry out often, while others do so rarely in situ.

I have almost two feet of treefern totem, as well as the same length of cypress bark, though both are very narrow which would help air flow. In addition I have some phoenix palm bark that I could work with, just am fairly new to mounting, and not sure what works when you have a large mount.

I would ask for vague groups that pair well together on large mounts, but that is a tall order. Feel free to share your knowledge of what works and what doesn't, even if it's not on my list of what I could use.

Plants I have that I could work with:
Pleuro. restrepioides 'dragonstone'
Various Tolumnias which hate having their thin roots damaged and take forever to recover
Cattleya luteola 4N
Cattleya Melody Fair
Cattleya NOID unifoliate non-mini
Angcm. didieri
Angcm. calceolus
Dendrophylax (3 species)
Jumellea densifoliata
Vandafinetia White Crane
Ascofinetia Moonlight Firefly
Dendrobium faciferum
Dendrobium limpidum
Dendrobium bullenianum
Dendrobium aggregatum hybrid
Bulbophyllum roxburghii
Brassavola cucullatta
Scaphyglottis prolifera
Dendrochilum glumaceum
3 Vanda/ascda seedlings
Encyclia tampensis
Myrmecophila NOID
Howeara 'lava burst'
Vanilla planifolia
Maxillaria sanguinea
Potinara Alison Koch
Doritis NOID
Sobennikoffia robusta

Any tips would help! Thank you.

I have put different catts together on long boards before. Most need the same amount of water because they are mounted. They all dry out evenly. I like when they bloom together. nice contrasts. Phals are another option. Very nice blooming together.
