Kultureshock hasn't visted this board since 2013. Other people have asked questions of him during this time with no response.

Try doing a search on the board. Top of page on the red banner right hand side you'll find a button for search. Try inputtting homemade keiki grow or paste. You should get some type of result.

Good luck!

I'm always interested in keikis! I might try this if I get some spare spent flower spikes. Thank you for the very informative, very interesting post! Please keep us updated on the progress of those keikis!

The hormones used and their quantities vary depending on what plant you're wanting to propagate.
What orchids do you have in mind?

Also, it's not always legal or easy to obtain (or store) the chemicals.
Do you have access to benzylaminopurine, polyoxyethylenesorbitan monopalmitate or chemically pure paraffin
oil?

1. I have a lot of Dendrobium anosmum
2. I bought on ebay: 6-BA (50g); Kinetin (50g); Auxin NAA (50g).
But I don't know how to mix it into a cream?
Which emulsifier?
Can I use: 1,5 g 6BA + 0,5 g Kinetin +Aquagel 45 (Or....)
Please teach me the best way. Thanks you

I do not know the effects of a keiki paste on Dendrobium, but here's a recipe that works for Phalaenopsis.

As with everything where you try to force a plant to duplicate with hormones, use with caution.

A paste containing 3750mgl−1 BA can be prepared as follows:

Dissolve 440g Vaseline by placing it in a 2‐l beaker that
has been placed in a 54°C water bath.

Add to the Vaseline 5g chemically pure paraffin oil (liquid petrolatum), 9g stearyl alcohol, and 20g Tween 20.

Stir all components well.

After that bring the mixture to a volume of 1 liter with distilled water while
stirring vigorously and again mixing well.

Dissolve 3.75 g (3750 mg) BA in 10–50 ml ethyl alcohol; add this to the mixture, which must be stirred well during the entire preparation.

Pour the liquid mixture into containers, and store in a refrigerator at 4 °C.

BA concentrations can be varied by changing the amount added to the Vaseline–paraffin oil–stearyl alcohol–Tween‐20 mixture.
