I had posted a message regarding the ghost orchid to grow in an open jar. Then another one to a friend that I noticed that has joined the OrchidBoard. TBaesinger
is Father Ted to me. He is a Catholic Priest who is going thru orchid judging school and an incredibly great guy!

The jar would work, too....but then you would have to move it when it blooms, which may disrupt the bloom.  |

I know someone here in NC who grows his on Mockernut Hickory. After many years of not getting it to bloom, he was told to completely withhold all water the month of February and viola, it finally bloomed. He bought it to one of our monthly meetings and it is really something to see.

oooh... I'm looking for this 'chid for a long time, but can't find the source in Europe... I've read really a lot about this plant and about her natural enviroment in Florida. Is there anyone who know where can i get this orchid in Europe? I found information that there is some source in Slovenia but nothing more...

I don't know about any in Europe, but rubeninorchids.com (S. Florida) sells 3-4 in a flask, for $20. The flask may help it endure the trip. They are very healthy, too!
