I have two nice ones @ some pieces of that stuff I got from Oak Hill. It takes time to figure out how to keep these alive! Larger plants so far seem easier. I just about have my tank complete (cost a fortune) but it should almost take care of itself. As soon as the rest of my parts get here will post some pics.-Martin

I am glad to hear about the camera!! They are handy for sure. Got a digital controller for the fogger and heat today. I set it on 90% humidity and 83 on the temp daytime78 at night. So much better than manual switches. Also have small fan on a dimmer switch. Think they might live.

Default Controling Temp. @ Humidity Digitally

I bought a fogger ,heatpad and the controller from reptilesupply.com .Seems that ghost orcdids and little frogs like the same enviroment! Lucky Us! Everything I got is of the highest quality not the toy junk I normally find. They have some nice light fixtures and light timers too. Not cheap but the best prices I have found on the quality stuff.
The controller has completly stabilized my tank. Exact temp. and humidity 24/7.All automatic.
I will post some pics SOON!!!Think I may be figureing all this out (maybe).-Martin

Well thats pretty awesome that it can control both temp and humidity, i bet that saves some lost sleep. After fall, im setting up a very complex paludarium, which in a year will house some poison dart frogs, and the ghost was going to be placed on a 5+ year bald cypress that i will cut down to about a foot and start styling inside my paludarium over the next few years,* I too will take some pics as soon as i get my camera, im growing mine in plastic container layed out over moist sphagnum moss, i heard the quality of the moss plays a bit of a role, so im going to go get some nice stuff, it was about 20 dollars for a bale of it, maybe a pound or so, but it looks like its only the heads where they are really fluffy.* Anways im going to check that site out, and may also purchase those to.* i'll knock it out with one stone

BTW, what was the product called that you ordered, i see an exo-terra temp controller, but not one that can turn anything on or off by sensing the temp, or humidity.

It is a hygro therm temp. @ humidity controller. Will work foggers or misters also has photo eye that will lower temp. at night, pretty cool! The fogger I have is not the tiny little one this one holds about a quart of water and operates independently. The fogger is $47.00@ the control unit was about $80.00 not bad for good quality stuff!-Martin

I was wondering whether any of you were successful? I was particularly interested in the stagnant air vs. growing the plant in a humid greenhouse with a hydrofogger

I just bought a ghost orchid from a nursery in France. For those, who are still looking check out here

I live very close to where these grow and have had a very hard time keeping them alive. But if I were to do another one I would tank or GH raise it. Good luck.

I live about 15 miles from the Corkscrew swamp (where one of the few publicly known Ghosts grows).
I've had my ghost (from Oak hill for only 1 month). It was small (maybe the size of a quarter) and mounted on a piece of cedar shingle w/spag. I left it mounted as received and put it inside a 4" clay pot wrapped in spag. and inside the base of a cut off 2 liter pop bottle. I keep the pop bottle with an inch or so of water and the evaporation through the clay pop keeps the mount about 2 F cooler than ambient and the humidity between 89-96% RH. It gets no direct sunlight but bright shade all day. So far it seems happy enough, and is probably about 1" in diameter now (a small increase, but encouraging). It seems to a have a very tiny almost stag-fern like leaf at it's center. I mist it once/twice a day.
For climatic conditions look up Naples, FL as a starting point, but I'm sure deep in the swamp is significantly modified.
